Weekly Walkabout

It’s Sunday and instead of writing a blog post today, I thought I’d take a look at what been going on this week.

I’m going to start with this presentation on internet trends. It gives some great insights into shifts in how we access the internet as well as where the traffic is coming from. The re-imagination section brings home just how fast things are changing. I’ve some fond memories of old friends.

With the growth in mobile commerce Google have announced their recommendations for building smartphone-optimized websites. Their recommendation is responsive web design.

If you’re just starting out setting up a blog, I found this article about building a list reassuringly comfortable. No massive growth, no big guru approach, just slowly but surely.

If you’re already up and running and looking for more promotion ideas, don’t forget video marketing. This article gives some great tips to include in your YouTube marketing strategy.

And finally, if you’re struggling with traffic, haven’t made your first dollar, or are simply finding it tough at the moment, don’t give up. It’s all possible…

Over To You: What have you been up to this week?
